Greetings and welcome to my photo gallery.

I am a photographer in the Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin area. Currently, my main focus in photography is producing images of architecture, transportation, industry and other interesting subjects. I like to call it "Hybrid Imaging" as it is a combination of conventional photography and digital post processing. I prefer to process my images to have a more surreal look, but am capable of producing more realistic images as well. I also am beginning to do some artistic portrait composites using different studio lighting and post processing techniques. I also do some family / individual portraiture.

The Daily Grind.
I have been wanting to do this image for some time and finally got around to putting it together. Here is the tech info. Pentax K10D on a Bogen tripod. Exposure was 2sec @ F/11 ISO100. In addition to the ambient light produced by 2 seconds of sparks, I lit it with two strobes. I had an Alien Bees B800 directly overhead with a 40 degree honey comb grid set at f/8. I then had a Photogenic PG3001 with a 5 degree honey comb grid to camera right set at f/5 pointing at my face to fill it in a bit more than the sparks were providing. I also used an Elinchrom wireless trigger to fire the strobes. PP done in multiple layers with Photoshop.

Gun Fighter

The "Gun Fighter" was lit with four lights. A 22" beauty dish overhead at f/8, an Alien Bees ring light with camera through the center at f/5, and two rim light strobes on either side and just behind - both at f/10. Final exposure was 1/160 sec @ f/9 ISO 100. Bullet, casings, muzzle blast and city lights all layered together with PS in post processing.

This is absolutely one of my top 5 favorite images. This is a beach in Michigan. I love the colors, vastness, motion of the water and the true essence of a child at play someplace she has never been before.

This is the old stone railroad bridge in Roscoe, IL. Built in 1882, a gravel bike path now travels over it.

These are the Neverly Brothers out of Chicago, IL. Very cool band. These images are from the 105th Anniversary Harley Davidson event at Kegels Harley Davidson in Cherry Valley, IL

Beef A Roo. This is a local diner that has been in town over 40 years. They have several restaurant themes including a "rock n roll" "railroad" "firehouse" "50's-60's" and others. Great place to eat. The artwork on this wall was painted by local artist and friend of mine, Mark Adamany.

I believe this is the old Rockford Art Museum... either way, it's a cool building in HDR.

Earth's Moon. This was taken with the *ist D through a Meade 400mm telescope. I've messed around a little with astrophotography (I think thats all one word) and have been happy with the results. I have a large print of this hanging up in the house. Nobody really comments on it though.

My Mamiya C220 Medium Format Camera. This camera was left to me by my father in law. I did a ton of film work with this camera prior to going digital. There is no comparison to shooting with a medium or large format camera opposed to 35mm. Granted, you don't have all the options and bells and whistles but finished prints were beautiful. I may shoot with this again someday for the fun of it.

The Beachfront Inn at Baileys Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin. A great place to stay if visiting Door Co. Very reasonable rates,beautiful views of Lake Michigan and hospitality that is second to none. We always enjoy our stay here.
